How to Connect to UniFi Teleport VPN

Overview

UniFi Teleport VPN allows you to securely connect to your network from various devices, including desktops (Windows, macOS, Linux) and mobile devices (iOS, Android). This guide will walk you through the steps to connect to the VPN using the WiFiman app.

Prerequisites

  • A device with an internet connection.
  • The WiFiman app (available for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, and Android).
  • An invite link provided by your network administrator.

For Desktop (Windows, macOS, Linux)

1. Receive the Invite Link

2. Open the Invite Link

  • On your computer, click the invite link.
  • You’ll be directed to a page where you can download the WiFiman app for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux).

3. Download and Install the WiFiman App

  • Select your operating system to download the appropriate version of the WiFiman app.
  • Run the installer that gets downloaded to install the WiFiman app on your computer.

4. Launch the WiFiman App

  • After installation, launch the app.
  • Click Agree on the terms and conditions page, then click Start.

5. Connect to the VPN

  • Copy and paste the invite link into the link section within the WiFiman app.
  • Click Connect to establish the VPN connection.

6. Disconnect When Done

  • When finished, disconnect from the VPN by closing the WiFiman app or clicking Disconnect.
  • To reconnect in the future, simply open the WiFiman app and click Connect.

For Mobile (iOS and Android)

1. Receive the Invite Link

  • Your network administrator will send you an invite link via email, text, or another communication method.

2. Open the Invite Link

  • On your mobile device, tap the invite link.
  • The link will automatically open in your default browser or the WiFiman app if it’s already installed.

3. Install the WiFiman App (If Not Already Installed)

  • If the app is not installed, you will be redirected to the app store to download and install it.
  • After installation, return to the invite link and tap it again to proceed.

4. Connect to the VPN

  • The WiFiman app will automatically recognize the invite link.
  • You may be prompted to confirm the connection; tap Connect to establish the VPN connection.

5. Verify the Connection

  • Once connected, the app will display a confirmation message indicating a successful connection.
  • You can now securely access your network resources remotely.

Troubleshooting

  • Invite Link Not Working: Ensure you have a stable internet connection and the latest version of the WiFiman app.
  • Unable to Connect: Verify that the invite link is valid and has not expired. Contact your network administrator if the issue persists.
